Employee Productivity
Question:
How many hours per day do employees lose to non-work related activity?
Answer:
2.09 hours.
A survey carried out in June 2005 by AOL and Salary.com found the average office
worker admits to 2.09 hours of time-wasting per eight hour day. This was more than
twice the level expected by Human Resource managers. Employee time wasting is more
prevalent in certain sectors, with the Insurance industry and Public sector worst
affected.

Also, younger employees are far more likely to engage in excessive time wasting.
The average time wasted per day by an individual aged between 20 and 25 is over
three times that of a person aged 45 to 55.
